Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups ripe watermelon chunks seedless if possible
  • 1-2 cups ice cubes adjust for desired slushiness
  • 1 lime lime for optional lime juice
  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves mint leaves for optional flavor

Method
 

  1. Cut the ripe watermelon into small chunks, removing any seeds. Measure out about four cups and place in the blender.
  2. Add a cup of ice cubes to the blender to help achieve the icy texture.
  3. Squeeze the juice of a lime over the watermelon and ice, if desired, to add a tangy brightness.
  4. Optional: Toss in a handful of fresh mint leaves for a refreshing herbal note.
  5. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and icy, about 30-45 seconds. You should see a vibrant pink or red color with a frosty texture.
  6. Check the consistency; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice and blend briefly to loosen it up. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
  7. Pour the colorful, icy watermelon slushy into glasses, and garnish with a sprig of mint or a lime wedge for presentation.
  8. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the cool, refreshing texture and sweet flavor.

Notes

For an extra twist, add a splash of coconut water before blending for a tropical flavor.
