Method
- Cut the ripe watermelon into small chunks, removing any seeds. Measure out about four cups and place in the blender.
- Add a cup of ice cubes to the blender to help achieve the icy texture.
- Squeeze the juice of a lime over the watermelon and ice, if desired, to add a tangy brightness.
- Optional: Toss in a handful of fresh mint leaves for a refreshing herbal note.
- Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high until the mixture is completely smooth and icy, about 30-45 seconds. You should see a vibrant pink or red color with a frosty texture.
- Check the consistency; if it’s too thick, add a splash of water or more lime juice and blend briefly to loosen it up. If too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
- Pour the colorful, icy watermelon slushy into glasses, and garnish with a sprig of mint or a lime wedge for presentation.
- Serve immediately with a straw or spoon, enjoying the cool, refreshing texture and sweet flavor.
Notes
For an extra twist, add a splash of coconut water before blending for a tropical flavor.
